With this look I channeled my inner goth,  forget the perception that everyone may have about Gothic glamour, it is not all about skulls, tattoos and black nail polish but of channeling your darker sultry self.

Here I combined textures and patterns from the leopard print skirt to velvet lace top and suede finger-less gloves with a fur trim. And to round-up the Goth glamour look, a dark lip.  Check out some pics below and comment.

So I have a new obsession with a color that is totally off for this winter seasons trend which is dark rich colors such as burgundy, deep rich reds.
I’m tapping into spring 2013 with the lavender and purples which im predicting will be hot this spring.
Matte palettes have also been hot this past season and I’m a huge fan of matte lipsticks but after I discovered matte nail polish! I had to have it…but that proved to be very difficult. It was always sold out at sephora, couldn’t find it anywhere online. But on a random Saturday I walked into a local drug store to buy some multi-vitamins and of course I had to check out the make up aisle (bad habit) and came across two beautiful purple shade lipsticks and a lavender colored nail polish and Lo and Behold! Revlon Matte top coat :), my day had officially been made!

I used black as the base coat for the matte top coat because they compliment each other well and Essie “play date” for the design with some embelishment, check out below

The lipsticks I’ll make quick starting with the better one: Loreal-Violet Chiffon that appears more like a magenta which goes on smooth and last forever, I would definitely recommend it. I just love the brightness of it…almost neon-ish

The one below is Covergirl-Embrace from the Queen Collection. As you will see with the swatch it definitely looks darker than it may appear from the base, I wasn’t excited about this one because of its shade,too dark and nothing screamed out unique color to me. It had a shimmer to it as well, which works for a night out in town look if your into a dark lip.

Overall I was very impressed with how the nails turned out And can’t wait to play with the lipsticks on a night out of town with my girls.

Star Spangles Banner

Yep here I am again….I need to stop with these hiatus periods. These new job position I started sure is overwhelming, leaving me with no time for my blog :(. . This is by far the hardest post had to put up. Just difficulty with the editing and I didn’t like a lot of the pics i took,  maybe because I need to invest in a camera. Anyway enough with the excuses…back to the post, So I bought these shorts from stylist extraordinaire to the stars Toye Adedipe, I didn’t think he did the custom-made acid wash studded shorts in plus size, so I took a pessimistic chance by emailing him, Lo and behold! he did! They were kinda pricey but it’s not often us plus size girls come across shorts that actually fit :). Hey im being honest.

It’s fall season and getting chilly out there for shorts, but I will show you how to rock them in the winter and also some summer looks as well.

I can transform ya

So i found this great dress ….wait….cover up, hence the title. I saw it hanging on the rack and immediately fell in love!

I honestly didn’t realize it was a cover up until I went out to lunch with a friend and a gust of wind revealed the waist high slits! oops. talk about embarrassing moments!, lol. Why i did’t notice the slit…who knows? I guess i was just too excited to be rocking the dresss.

I paired it up with a black skinny belt, just to enhance the waist.

Gold bracelet was gifted and the other from makemechic.com.

The necklace, I love because one of my friends forgot it at my place a yr or two ago and, I ade good use of it, she’ll kill me hehe. But I wanted to maitain the tribal theme with the necklace. Being that I was in Kenya a few months back, I get plenty compliments on whether I got the dress from the mothereland,but nope i bought it for $11.99 from Ross! yep. I said it, Ross! Like i always say, don’t be afraid to venture discount retailers, because they hold gems. Below are more pics of the dress.

color me bridal

While in Kenya I was given an opportunity to attend an Indian wedding at the Kenya Wild service as he venue for the reception, I was excited because I have never attended a multicultural wedding before and was eager to see there outfits.

I tried dress the part with a long green dress made out of (leso) traditional kenyan cloth that I purchased on my previous visit to Kenya and a long yellow scarf to go over my shoulders. Here are afew pics  I was able to salvage 🙂

Black & White

I can’t sleep,it’s 4am and I figured why not post? hehe. I never have time on the same day to make outfit posts, that explains me keeping plenty pics on my computer ready to be posted.

Xmas eave I went out with some friends and decided to wear a black and white very simple lady-like dress, but if you follow my posts by now, umm….im probably not that simple, so I vamped the outfit with black and silver spike accessories and black peep-toe booties with silver spikes. Yes, this was the kind of shoes, that if anyone looked down….they wouldn’t bother pestering me, lol.

To finish off the outfit I carried a black and silver snakeskin oversize clutch and my fav ring from the kardashian collection.

All I could get were three pics because we were rushing out the house, but hopefully this enough to give some curvy women an idea on how to pull off a black and white oufit. xoxo. I also wish I got a close up of the shoes. they will make a debut on another post.

Hitting the streets!

Now this outfit may a bit daring for most, especially us curvy women that may not like to show too much skin…but, you only live once and there classy ways of doing it. Confidence is key people!

I named the post Hitting the Streets! beacause when some of ya’ll see the outfit…hmm…yea. Enjoy.

Me and my girls were headed to enjoy the nightlife of Nairobi…the night ended up being unforgettable…here is a quick review of my outfit.

There were alot of pics, so I just made an album for them. I wore…

a lace top…red undergarments, if anything is going to show I like it to be red, red always brings the sexy.

A black and white striped skirt… I know I know as a curvy woman, stylists have mentioned plenty of times for us to avoid stripes like the plague….but you will see I pulled it off.

And a red heel to put the look together.

If you have a black motor jacket…it would go perfect with a striped skirt and chunky jeffrey campbell heels

So there’s a new craze going on now…the lip tattoo’s, you may have seen various celebs such as Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Amber Rose,Keyshia Cole, Kim Zolciak just to name a few, rocking the new trend.

At first I was like…lip tattoo’s? huh? But when I got to see a few pics of the designs, I was like wow, it’s actually pretty cool! I rarely wear any lipstick, but have started experimenting on some new looks on myself…kinda like taking myself out the box,lol,  many that know me already think I go crazy with my styles. But i’m thinking…you ain’t seen nothing yet! Anyway check out the pics below of the new trend and let me know what you think? Simply Casual

So this outfit was worn on a loose Monday, was hungry so decided to go out for a drink with friends, since it was just a casual and a chilly night out (winter is here 😦 ), I threw on a belted grey sweater, a pair of tights  and some booties.

The reason for a belted sweater is, some sweaters you could wear and just get lost in them, meaning they wont accentuate your curves, A belt is to give you definition, if the sweater doesnt come with a belt improvise and slip of one of your own belts, red, yellow, green for some added color or for just a casual night a black belt around the waist, will give your the added curves.

Sorry ladies, in future posts I will include links on where to find similar fashions and most importantly..in “our” size. :-). Coz we love our curves!

I loved the lace detail that came down the sides of the tights, I believe I got them at dots. And the zipper booties, I got from my collection, bought them a couple yrs back.  I had stopped carrying big bags awhile back that’s why I have the Nine west red wrislet, but I think i’ll get back into carrying around a oversize bag because there are lot of necessities I need with me, that I always leave in my car.

Here’s a closer look at the booties I just loved the zipper detail,and I loved the interior even more, lol what good is that if i’m just going to wear the shoe and cover all that? lol I’m just weird like that.
