Celeb Syle: Denim on Denim from Kim K to Plus size

Kim Kardashian is in Paris this week for her wedding next week, I’m excited for her! Hopefully this one’s a keeper! She was spotted with a denim on denim ensemble that I remixed adding some African flare with the ankara print clutch and bracelets from Maasai market, it is not the first time I have won this denim top, I absolutely love it, especially the lace back, I can’t remember where I got it from, but I didn’t pay much for it. Jeans are from and I’m debuting a new lippie from (under construction).

Easy Breezy

Mondays seem to be the worst day known to man lol but I celebrate it because it’s my fri. I’m never off on weekends and after 32 hrs of work, Mondays get to be ME days… I can relax all day without a care in the world for much needed recuperation rest.

Today I ended up running errands with a friend and she had so many worries in this life, I was thinking… Life is too short to be sweat the little things… Where there is a will there is always a way.

Someone once quoted that life is really simple but we insist of making it complicated.

On that note, my day today is chilled, decided to go with a multi colored maxi skirt from Ross, a simple tank top and some sandals I got from Maasai market (Kenya).

On that note… Have a great day loves, I’m headed for a swim to cool down from this blazing heat

How to wear printed pants #1

In the next few posts I will show you curvy ladies how to style printed pants, because it could get tricky. I got the pants from Lane Bryant.  This is the casual Friday look, for a dress down day at work or whatever else you may want. Please excuse  the faces i’m making…it was freezing cold that day.

Queen Of the Damned

With this look I channeled my inner goth,  forget the perception that everyone may have about Gothic glamour, it is not all about skulls, tattoos and black nail polish but of channeling your darker sultry self.

Here I combined textures and patterns from the leopard print skirt to velvet lace top and suede finger-less gloves with a fur trim. And to round-up the Goth glamour look, a dark lip.  Check out some pics below and comment.

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today. Dale Carnegie

Star Spangles Banner

Yep here I am again….I need to stop with these hiatus periods. These new job position I started sure is overwhelming, leaving me with no time for my blog :(. . This is by far the hardest post had to put up. Just difficulty with the editing and I didn’t like a lot of the pics i took,  maybe because I need to invest in a camera. Anyway enough with the excuses…back to the post, So I bought these shorts from stylist extraordinaire to the stars Toye Adedipe, I didn’t think he did the custom-made acid wash studded shorts in plus size, so I took a pessimistic chance by emailing him, Lo and behold! he did! They were kinda pricey but it’s not often us plus size girls come across shorts that actually fit :). Hey im being honest.

It’s fall season and getting chilly out there for shorts, but I will show you how to rock them in the winter and also some summer looks as well.

Below are some pics of the pics…

I did a girls night out/date night look.  A look I call summer love and casual out and about where i paired up the shorts with some Tims.

To check out Toye’s work visit his blogwebsite or for you own pair contact him

Please comment below, leave me your critics, suggestions, I want to hear anything you have to say

Sunny days

A few of my pals came to visit this past weekend from Virginia, it was all fun and sun. But I must say, this heat is not a girls bestfriend, its really hard to look cute with sweat dripping down your face.

I paired a pair of red jeans that i have been trying to find forever and i finally got a pair for $24! With an animal print top and black Jeffrey campbell’s

The bag i got from a thrift store awhile back for 5 bucks, it’s not vintage chanel but had similar detail, that explains why i fell in love with it.

We had lunch at a local kenyan restaurant but as the day progressed we went for drinks to this beautiful bar by the marina that mimicked beach side dining because of the sand and Ofcourse i had to change into a pair of gold sandals

Below r some are some more pics i tried to take by the water but the sun was too bright….or Maybe i just need a new camera lol

Lol. overrall I had a good day!

So i found this great dress ….wait….cover up, hence the title. I saw it hanging on the rack and immediately fell in love!

I honestly didn’t realize it was a cover up until I went out to lunch with a friend and a gust of wind revealed the waist high slits! oops. talk about embarrassing moments!, lol. Why i did’t notice the slit…who knows? I guess i was just too excited to be rocking the dresss.

I paired it up with a black skinny belt, just to enhance the waist.

Gold bracelet was gifted and the other from

The necklace, I love because one of my friends forgot it at my place a yr or two ago and, I ade good use of it, she’ll kill me hehe. But I wanted to maitain the tribal theme with the necklace. Being that I was in Kenya a few months back, I get plenty compliments on whether I got the dress from the mothereland, but nope i bought it for $11.99 from Ross! yep. I said it, Ross! Like i always say, don’t be afraid to venture discount retailers, because they hold gems. Below are more pics of the dress.
